Nanaimo Curling Club Fees Worksheet
How do we determine the individual fees?
For the 2026-27 curling season we will play two halves of 9-13 games each, depending on the league. The first half runs from October 4th to Dec. 21st and the second half runs from Jan. 3rd to April 1st. Due to inflation, these rates reflect a 3% increase on last year's rates.
To simplify our approach to the fee schedule, we use a set cost per 30 minute block of ice time. Then we calculate the number of 30 minute blocks per session, the number of sessions in the curling year, and also consider whether the league is in the Day or Evening. Any league that goes past 6pm is considered an evening league. Leagues that will be affected by bonspiels or other events are taken into consideration and not priced to include those days.
These calculations show the discounted rates for paying for both the 1st and 2nd halves of the season up front. Paying for both halves separately is about $25-$30 more per league.
Day Leagues
We cost out the ice at $4.90 for every 30 minute block. The 4th block is half price at $2.45
- A 1.5 hour [3 blocks of 30 minutes] league over 24 sessions would be $4.90 x 3 x 24 = $352.80
- A 2 hours [3 blocks of 30 minutes plus one more 1/2 price block] league over 24 sessions would be [$4.90 x 3 + $2.45] x 24 = $411.60
Evening Leagues [running past 6pm]
We cost out the ice at $5.40 for every 30 minute block. The 4th block is half price $2.70
- A 1.5 hour [3 blocks of 30 minutes] league over 24 sessions would be $5.40 x 3 x 24 = $388.80
- A 2 hours [3 blocks of 30 minutes plus one more 1/2 price block] league over 24 sessions would be [$5.40 x 3 + $2.70] x 24 = $453.60
All members pay:
- Membership Capital Reserve $60 [you pay once per season to play at NCC]
- Club Affiliation Dues $29 ($24 to Curl BC, $5 to Curling Canada), paid only 1 time/yr., if playing at 2 or more clubs, you only pay it once. Bring a receipt showing if you have already paid this at another club.
- If you are 60+, you also pay PCMCA Dues of $8. You only pay it once in BC. Bring a receipt showing if you have already paid this at another club.
Club Policies – League Fees
- More than 2 Leagues – if a member registers in 2 full leagues, a 3rd and subsequent leagues will be discounted by 25% "This discount is applied to the lowest cost leagues
- Missed Date[s] – should the NCC be closed for any reason and your league misses a date, we cannot reimburse for the missed date but we will endeavour to find a “make-up” time
- Leagues are priced for the maximum games avail for each session. [e.g. should League X decide to finish playing less games than available, they still pay for all availiable games each session].
- Thursday, Friday and Sunday league fees have been adjusted for lost dates due to bonspiels. Holiday closures are Thanksgiving and the Xmas Holiday 2 week closure
- Social fees and cash prize fees vary by league

There is a savings of $25-$30 total for registering & paying for the entire season versus registering and paying "Twice" for each half season.
There will be a 10% penalty for Members who haven't paid their league fees on or before Oct 23, 2026. Late fees are applied to all registered league fees and dues.
* These fees are MANDATORY membership fees to be a part of the Nanaimo Curling Club.
** The PCMCA Fee is mandatory for all Members who are 60 years and older.
