Curling paused through Sunday, December 6

Hello NCC members,

You may have heard about the latest public health order that was communicated by Dr. Henry and Adrian Dix this afternoon. The health order states that “all indoor adult team sport is also prohibited” and then lists several sports that are included in this prohibition. Curling is not listed as one of those sports. Curl BC is seeking clarification on this order.

The NCC board of directors has erred on the side of caution this season so that we can keep our members as safe and healthy as possible. Because of the statement that “all indoor adult team sport is…prohibited”, we are going to pause all curling at NCC until we receive clarification on whether curling escapes this prohibition. This means that the club is closed at least through end of day Sunday, December 6. League games, the junior program, FunCurl, and practice ice are all cancelled during this time. We will communicate again once we know more, but definitely by Sunday evening.

Cancelled games / sessions on Thursday and Friday will be made up at the end of the first half of the season or the current square, as applicable.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Thank you for all your support in this difficult season.
